Sports and Cultural Activity Committee
ABOUT SPORTS AND CULTURAL ACTIVITY COMMITTEE:
The Sports and Cultural committee focus on extracurricular activities of the college. Sports form one of the most important aspects for enhancing concentration level and sportsman spirit in student. Recreational activities in the forms of music, dance and other cultural activities play a pivotal role in the development of students.
SVIPS focus on establishing a vibrant environment with deep sense of belonging and inclusiveness of all the communities-students and staff in all activities of the college. The committee was established with an aim of fostering holistic development among students. The committee focuses on organising and promoting sports and cultural activities, which contributes significantly to student’s progress and the overall experience of the college.
FUNCTIONS:
- 1. Arranging cultural events, such as art exhibitions, music and dance performances, drama, folk presentations, and literary gatherings.
- 2. Hosting events that celebrate various cultures and habitations can foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of diversity.
- 3. Facilitating cultural exchange through organization of workshops, lectures, and exchange programs.
- 4. Implementing community engagement and service events by involving students and staffing predicts that benefit local communities, thereby promoting cultural understanding.
- 5. Promoting physical fitness by organizing fitness-oriented workshops, classes and other initiatives.
- 6. Overseeing the management of resources, infrastructure, and collaborations necessary for sports and cultural activities within the college.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- 1. To conduct intra and inter college cultural and sports events of the college.
- 2. To enhance students’ progress and overall experience of the college by promoting and organizing extracurricular and sports activities.
- 3. To create a healthy, active and inclusive atmosphere in the college.
Frequency of Meeting:
The Physical director will convene the meeting of the Sports and Cultural committee with the permission of chairman in advance. The committee shall meet as and when requires and at least once in a year. The notice shall state the venue, the date and time of the meeting. Notwithstanding the above provision, the chairman of the Committee may call an emergency meeting at a short notice to consider urgent special issues.
COMPOSITION OF THE SPORTS AND CULTURAL COMMITTEE:
The College Sports and Cultural Committee shall have a minimum of ten members, including the Chairman and Physical director. All other members will be nominated by the Chairman. The constitution of the Sports and Cultural Committee will be as follows:
- Principal of the College – Chairman
- Physical director as Convener
- All class representatives are as members
